Mascot/Nickname: FalconsThe club was formed in 1995 by the amalgamation of Payneham and Norwood Union. The former club was keen to strengthen its member base and to develop juniors, while the latter had strong junior development but had been struggling at senior level. The first coach was former Norwood star Gary "Alby" Menzel, and the Payneham Oval was used in preference to Brookway Park on financial grounds. In 2000 both "A" and "B" teams played in the Grand Final of Division 4 and the Club seems to have settled in Division 3.

Round 12, Ovingham was played Payneham NU at Payneham Oval on Saturday 2nd July, at 2:15 pm. The weather was cloudy and drizzly with a water soaked oval.

Round 3on 16th April at Cane Reserve, was between Ovingham and Payneham NU. The weather was sunny and mild with a light breeze. Perfect conditions for a football game.
Ovingham was recovering from a114 point thrashing last week at the hands of Rostrevor Old Collegians while Payneham NU was yet to record a win for season 2011.

It was a tough Semi-Finals game as well as harsh and brutal as Broadview and Payneham Norwood Union fought to the death for a spot in next Sunday's Preliminary Final but it was the energized Payneham Norwood Union that went home with the victory by 13 points.
