Club history

The club was formed in 1995 by the amalgamation of Payneham and Norwood Union. The former club was keen to strengthen its member base and to develop juniors, while the latter had strong junior development but had been struggling at senior level. The first coach was former Norwood star Gary "Alby" Menzel, and the Payneham Oval was used in preference to Brookway Park on financial grounds. In 2000 both "A" and "B" teams played in the Grand Final of Division 4 and the Club seems to have settled in Division 3.
