Club history
Pulteney O.S. was formed in 1936 and one of the co-founders was Graham Wilson, a future SAAFL Chairman and President, who also played 75 games with the Club. It came into the SAAFL with a ready-made superstar in Ivan Hooper, quadruple medallist, state player and coach of the Club, who was joined briefly by Glenelg ruckman Alan Crabb. The Club combined with Prince Alfred O.C. in 1941 to form Collegians for just one season, as the following year the SAAFL went into recess for the War. After the War it found difficulty in maintaining its place in A2 until 1980 when it earned promotion to A1. It repeated this feat in 1988 under former Adelaide College and Adelaide University coach John Griffen. The Morgan family were prominent members of the Club as David and Geoff Morgan both performed the duties of secretary and coach, and each played over 300 games. The club went into recess during 1995 and 1996 when the School focus was temporarily shifted away from football. When the Club reformed in 1997 at a time when many new clubs had entered the amateurs, it was graded in Division 7 but quickly rose to Division 4 with 3 consecutive premierships in the A Grade and 2 Premierships in the B Grade.

2011, Rnd 10, D4: Unley v Pulteney |

Conditions at Unley for the triple header v Pulteney were almost perfect for footy, if not a trifle cool for the spectators. A mild westerly, worth maybe a goal or two, favoured “the hills” end of the ground whilst sunny breaks took the chill out of the air throughout the afternoon. The odd patch of fine drizzle made no difference to the overall style of play.

After finishing 4th in Season 2010 the Jets are keen to improve their standing in season 2011 and started that job by matching up against old rivals Pulteney in their round one clash at Morgan Oval.
Unley on paper seem to have more depth this year, but with some unseen new arrivals the season opener always has the potential to dash pre-season hopes and aspirations. The correspon

We’ve all been there before.
You start by hearing the morning birds, the chill of a sunless winter morning reboots your senses and you lie in the red filtered light of the sun through your eyelids scrambling to gather the threads and clues, now strewn across your consciousness like black, blue and white confetti, to prepare for what you might see when you open your eyes.

The log jam in Div 4 between 2nd and 8th makes every game a vital one as the finals loom on the horizon. Round 12 saw this melodrama unfold most importantly for neighbourhood rivals Unley and Pulteney, separated by one game and a slim percentage. A win for Unley (6th) would potentially boost them into the top 5, whilst success for the Blues would cement them in

Pooraka played host to a perfect blend of intense football and obliging errors that gave everyone on the park a chance to touch the ball. Pulteney looked irrepressible early with the gym loving hair models playing as though a red carpet had been rolled down the centre corridor towards goal, ushered by the amusingly short in real life Ian Perrie. But Pooraka had prepared for this guy an

On what was a much needed win for Pooraka after their big loss last week to Sailisbury, the game started at a screeming pace which seemed to suit the visitors much more who came out firing. Ian Perrie was a key figure in the first half causing havock across the forward line. The strength in Pulteney's forward line with strong overhead marking was a tatic that needed to be stopped.

Saturday 24th of April saw The Jets take the short trip up Unley Rd to do battle with Pulteney; Div 4’s equivalent of the “local derby”.
Unley’s C grade had a bye, but the B Grade turned on a great display, with the younger Jets standing tall and helping to deliver the side their first win of the season by 50 points.
In the A’s, Unley fielde
